Welcome
to Flightline UK's coverage of the Royal International
Air Tattoo 2005 at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.
The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is the
largest military airshow in world regualrly boasting
line-ups of 300 or more aircraft. In 2005 the
Tattoo focusses on the secretive world of Surveillance
aircraft which includes a wide variety of types
from modified business jets, military fast jets
to UAVs and the mysterious U-2 spy plane, one of
which should be on static display. As ever, there
was the largest static and flying displays of
the year with everything from a Pitts Special to
Eurofighter Typhoon to the mighty B-52H Stratofortress.
