RIAT 2005 opened
for business today. The first aircraft to land was
the E-6 Mercury from the United States Air
Force. Infact, a large proportion of the arrivals
today were from the United States with the arrival
of two B-52Hs, a B-1B and two F-16CJs
for the flying display. Several of the star items
also turned up included the Greek Air Force RF-4E
Phantom and TA-7C Corsair II. Most spectacular
of the arrivals today was the Polish Air Force Su-22UM3K
sporting the most spectacular tiger scheme,
surely a candidate for best paint scheme! Elsewhere,
the Lockheed U-2S that arrived today won't
stay long, it's due out at 0400hrs tomorrow while
the real static example should arrive tomorrow.
