Friday 17th July

Friday was a grey and wet day, though not quite as bad as forecast as predicted with conditions just good enough for most of the displays to rehearse as well as the last few arrivals. Without doubt, the highlight of Friday's displays was the Spanish EF-18 Hornet display which was extremely tight and noisey. Another good news story was the Vulcan which made it to Fairford despite poor weather at Yeovilton which delayed it's departure and unfortunatly led to the cancellation of a special flypast with a pair of VC-10's from nearby RAF Brize Norton. Sadly it would appear there have been a number of further cancellation, not least the USAF C-17A due for the flying display. Having sid that, the flying display is looking very good indeed with a number of good displays and a few surprises. Though the arrivals have finished, we been putting in the occasion tweet so if you are stuck at home, keep an eye on our live text feed!
