Airshow Organisers, Farnborough International Ltd (FIL) today confirmed that combined sales of exhibition and chalet space for the Farnborough International Airshow 2014 have reached unprecedented levels with around 40% of total space already sold. To date, 38% of its shell schemes stands, 35% of its self-build stand space and a massive 56% of outdoor space have been booked for the show which will take place between 14-25 July 2014.

Just 7 months since the close of the 2012 event, the impressive sales are due to many companies taking advantage of the organiser’s ‘Early Bird’ deal offering exhibitors a saving of 4% on the advertised rates. While the offer has provided a great incentive to book early, with the closing date not untill the end of June, the volume of repeat customers is exceptional.

Hosted biennially, the next Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) has long been considered one of the world’s leading aerospace events and core to many aerospace companies’ sales and marketing strategy. The 2012 event saw over 1500 exhibitors attend from 39 countries, 153 aircraft taking parting in both static and flying displays and orders and commitments to the tune of US$72billion. With over 100,000 visitors attending across the five trade days, of which 53% don’t attend any other airshow, FIA has consistently proved itself to be a must-attend core industry event.

Speaking about the positive sales, FIL Commercial Director, Amanda Stainer said, “While orders and commitments may have totalled US$72billion at FIA2012, the true value far exceeds this as it moves across the supply chain. The early commitment from our exhibitors further reflects the show’s value. The early booking offer is open until 28th June ’13 so there is still plenty of time for companies who have not yet booked to take advantage of this incentive.”

FIL Chief Executive, Shaun Ormrod, further added, “As we move forward into the planning phase for the 2014, we will continue to invest in the show to create an event that our exhibitors and visitors benefit – a larger Space zone, improved security and unmanned systems feature areas, and a focus on new business sectors not featured at FIA before. We are looking forward to developing our ideas over the coming months.”

The early booking discount for FIA2014 runs until 28th June 2013. The FIL team will be present at the Australian International Airshow from 26 Feb – 1 Mar and will be available to discuss requirements for FIA2014 or visit http://www.farnborough.com
