The 2014 Shoreham Airshow is pleased to welcome on board another New Sponsor ‘GT Lifting Solutions’, Lifting Equipment Hire Specialists – and two New Supporters ‘Eurofighter Typhoon’ manufacturers the worlds most advanced swing-role combat aircraft and ‘Latest TV’ the New Brighton Regional Television Network.

Derek Harber, the Airshow Organizer confirmed this following discussions with all the companies. “It is important for us to have their support. Running an event such as ours, there are many hidden extras. By having such organizations on board, it allows us to allocate funding to other parts of the airshow!

‘GT Lifting Solutions’ Managing Director Graham Trundell said. “I am pleased to sponsor an aircraft at the Shoreham Airshow – it is a long running institution within the community, with a huge International following.”

Peter Teichmans, PRU-Blue Painted Supermarine Spitfire MkXI PL965 Photographic Reconnaissance Aircraft. It is an extremely rare aircraft with an interesting history. Peter who owns Hanger 11 has been involved in display flying for many years, and has built up a unique collection of aircraft, many which have appeared at Shoreham before. “I am indebted for GT Lifting Solutions support. Funding a display, helps keep these magnificent aircraft flying, especially at Shoreham, which has always been one of my favorite airshow venues.”

One of the highlights in the flying display for both days will be the RAF Typhoon. For the 2014 season it is being flown by Flt Lt Noel Rees from 29 (R) Squadron based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire. Flt Lt Rees will be demonstrating the full turning and burning performance of the Typhoon during his display sequence. ‘Eurofighter’ will be offering behind the scenes support to the airshow organizing team.

‘’ is one of the new television channels to start in the UK on July 18th. It will broadcast on Channel 8 and Sky along with other selected networks including Freeview. Shoreham cannot run without the support of the media. “To have one of the new approved Regional Television Stations providing media coverage, and reportage updates by Talk Sports Mike Mendoza, will be a new venture for us., which will cover an area from Eastbourne to Chichester, wants to be seen to support such events. It is great news for the airshows established Press Team,” said John Periam – Press Officer.


What a year it is for aviation at Shoreham! The Honourable Company of Air Pilots has chosen this year’s airshow to hold their annual ‘Masters Garden Party’. Over 100 pilots, navigators and their guests will be attending the popular get together. Dorothy Saul-Pooley has the honour of being the first female Master of the Company. Dorothy is a Shoreham-Based flying instructor, and examiner with a wealth of experience, linked to a degree in law.

“What could be a better venue than Shoreham? I have had many happy hours flying here, and to support this, the 25th Anniversary Airshow is a golden opportunity to invite many of my colleagues to this wonderful aviation event at the UK’s oldest private airfield. To see the world’s last two flying Lancaster’s is an extra bonus for us all,” Dorothy added!

The flying programme for both the 30th and 31st of August will include over 50 participating aircraft in a six hour display.
