Farnborough International 2014 - 14th-20th July - Preview

Farnborough is perhaps the most famous of all UK airshows. 2014 sees some important changes to the show. The first four days of the show will remain the traditional TRADE days showcasing the very best of the aerospace industry to the world.

The public weekend of the event is to get a facelift. The new look show will have its own branding and deliver an even wider offering to the general public.

As well as the 5 ½ hour flying spectacular, static aircraft display and other family attractions, plans for the event include a motor vehicle exhibition, high-end retail facilities, more grandstand seating from which to enjoy display, advanced visitor packages, a general aviation (GA) aircraft park and a broader selection of food and beverage facilities.

2014 marks the centenary anniversary for WW1 and Farnborough Airshow 2014 will be adopting this theme to celebrate 100 years of aviation history, commemorating the technological advances in flight spurred by those first air combats in the skies over Europe. The Farnborough Airshow 2014 will bring together classic milestones along this path starting with WW1 aircraft; WW2 classic fighters, the first commercial airliners; the introduction of the jet and demonstrations from iconic aircraft throughout the decades bringing us to where we are today.
